King Street Studios’ is Charleston’s largest professional Wedding and Portrait Photography Studio. Their elegant, magazine style caters to discerning clients who only expect the best in artistic, contemporary Wedding & Portrait Photography. Studio owners Reese and Todd believe that beautiful, editorial, and cinematic style imagery creates the most visually-compelling and sensitive story of an event.

King Street Studios is centered in the new art district of Charleston. Our 3,000 sf studio is located in a 100-year-old warehouse and exudes the character that can only come from a historic space. The exposed brick, steel beams, hard-wood floors, and original spiral staircase, paired with contemporary accents and artistic flair, make you immediately feel relaxed and at home in this one-of-a kind photography studio.

Todd Surber relocated to Charleston in 2006 after spending years in LA and traveling the world on assignment, photographing and touring with rock stars such as Papa Roach, Buckcherry, The Cult, and so many more.  It was during this time he refined his talent for creating emotionally-dramatic images. Todd believes that event photography is about capturing the moment that forever leaves the viewer and the subject with the memory of the magic in that experience. He feels the images that come from these times will help people carry the memories with them so their feelings don’t have to fade.

Reese Allen began his career in photography with a converted garage darkroom and a bathtub as a print washer. Following years of fine art, black & white, and color printing, he evolved to professional fashion, advertising, and editorial photography creating shoots from New York to Miami. During this time, he developed his innate sense of composition, technical lighting skills, and passion for portrait and wedding photography.


Combining Reese’s editorial-style background with Todd’s live-event experience, King Street Studios offers a fresh, natural approach for the contemporary couple who values quality and timelessness.
